Insurance Biller Job Description

A well-known and industry leading Dental Management firm is looking for an Insurance Biller to join the team ASAP!

The Insurance Biller is a key strategic and operational role responsible for RCM activities related to the billing of all current and outstanding procedures/claims. The main function of the Insurance Biller is to ensure accurate and timely submission of payer claims. Charge audits will be performed to ensure that all services have been included on the claim. Primary and secondary claim rejections must be resolved to enable electronic claim submission. Secondary and paper claims will require manual attention. Medical billing assistance may also be required for oral surgery procedures.

The Insurance Biller role is a hybrid position, in which the team member works from both the office and home, as long as performance and productivity standards are being met. Initial training will require that the team member be onsite at the office.

OSI Dental Web (QDW) experience is strongly preferred, along with a background in healthcare billing. A combination of billing and/or general dental experience is ideal.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR INSURANCE BILLER

* Responsible for accurate and timely submission of claims to both dental and medical (when applicable) payors

* Audit previous dental services against claim charges

* Resolve any QDW and/or NextGen clearinghouse rejections. Escalates issues, as needed, timely and accurately.

* Submit secondary claims to payors when prompted by the system in a timely manner

* Submit paper claims to payors when electronic options are unavailable

* Assist with medical billing when requested

* Monitor timely filing denials to understand performance improvement opportunities

* Monitor rejection/denial trends to identify opportunities to strengthen clearinghouse claim scrubbing

* Assist with ERA enrollment activities as requested

* Support team members in assigned project-based work

* Maintain or exceed established productivity goals and quality standards

* Performs other related duties as assigned
